Just a reminder that the fascists are dismantling government at a frantic pace destroying key capacities that will not come back for decades if ever again all while the opposition and media are focused on the shiny object of the hour and grifters are selling theater as resistance to fascism.
#BREAKING: Over a dissenting opinion by Justice Kagan (joined by Justices Sotomayor and Jackson), #SCOTUS clears the way for President Trump to remove members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, granting yet another emergency application:

Ten years of Trump going on TV and just fucking saying whatever, and still nothing like an industry set of best practices to deal with it. Put someone on the set with a laptop to look stuff up, pause the interview, whatever. He'd walk off but so what. Amazing to still be at "agree to disagree."

The fact that we colloquially refer to the ongoing illegal gutting of the federal civil service as "firings" and "reductions in force" is an example of successful propaganda

I saw a version of this on here before but it's worth yelling: these institutions that Musk is illegally dismantling– the weather service, health system, climate & energy research, international aid, maybe the US mail(?)– they don't belong to him, they belong to us. We invested in them. They're ours

It’s really strange how Trump figured out that Executive Orders are basically “longer tweets that drive giant media attention” and the media hasn’t figured it’s being played each time they report on these as if it’s Moses coming down the Mount with stone tablets.

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns.

Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity.

It’s been the plan for decades.

I think it says something about American white supremacy that the calculation here is that the electorate would not be riled up over the racist kidnappings and deportations and this is in part because the Democrats have worked with the GOP to facilitate broad American support for xenophobia
It says something that, to me, is harrowing that the Dems are finally riled up and it’s over an idiot’s national security breach and not, I dunno, pulling people off the street and sending them to an El Salvadoran slave labor camp without due process and total disregard over innocence or guilt.

I think Musk and Bezos and Zuckerberg, among others, believe their ownership of media companies and newspapers and social media platforms gives them not just influence, but the ability to dictate what American culture *is*, and I think they’re dead fucking wrong.

A survival skill for now and the times to come is strategic rhetoric against Shitty Little Men™️ (they're branded bc they're all the same, mass produced, and utterly owned).

Here's the thing. Shitty Little Men (SLM, pronounced "slime"), need and feed on social status and approval.

They are cowards.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

The most powerful movement in American politics right now is dedicated to making sure that everyone who is not already rich gets dumber, sicker, and poorer in the future. The euphemisms are already by the wayside; it's basically text, not subtext, that kids today are learning way too much stuff.
