The more I think about this, the angrier I get. It takes a particularly virulent strain of sociopathy to sit and let hard-working people serve you a meal knowing that you plan to arrest them and send them off for deportation once they're off of work.

A few days ago, Fox News was whining about ICE agents getting heckled at a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis.
Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.

So a lot of these people were really radicalized during BLM. I think they are trying to create a do-over. This is very much a first person player game for them. Yes there’s some electoral interference shaping up & creating slave labor but more than a little bit of a BLM redo.

We were reading Chisholm’s speech declaring her candidacy in class and taking about what kind of vision she was laying out for the country and just kind of stopped and said wow that would been pretty great huh. Imagine how different the last 50 years could have been. Bummer.

I’m making sure I have examples of student writing in class that is handwritten that I keep copies of. This way when I get something that looks and sounds very different I can at least use those to start the conversation.
This is a good question. What if the AI detector says the learner used AI but the learner says they didn’t?
Formally, there are no rules to govern this in most institutions. There are few rules about AI and outcomes and practices at all.

My question is even if the AI tools worked to identify AI (they don’t), what is my child’s recourse when they give a false positive? Dumb her paper down? Record herself writing the paper? It’s just a lazy, ineffective policy, and I would expect more out of an English teacher of all subjects.
