I am impressed by how many Jewish holidays that woman at UCL managed to cram into one blood libel: pancakes cooked with blood of gentiles for feast of tabernacles. It was like one of those Jewish food supermarket aisles with latkes, hamentashen and yortsayt candles…

What is in large part so demoralizing about this is not just how inappropriately men in positions of power behave but how profoundly stupid these men often are. This idiot was the president of Harvard.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I really enjoyed reading this review. I wish it had mentioned Krasznahorkai's translators. George Szirtes translated The Melancholy of Resistance. I translated Herscht 07769, the book under review here.

Even a simple byline at the top. 'Translated by...' It's important.+

This is how the ostensibly philosemitic wing of the party is going to reconcile itself with the openly antisemitic wing. “We tried to help you, we really did, but you wouldn’t let us.”

There's extensive evidence that just giving poor people money is very effective public policy. The moral panic over what ppl buy with SNAP is about sadism and entitlement. the wealthy enjoy policing and tormenting those they see as their inferiors. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/republican...

Seven years ago today, 11 Jewish people were murdered at the Tree of Life Congregation, a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In their names, we will continue to stand up against hate, bigotry and the rise in antisemitism taking place around the country. May their memories be for a blessing.

I feel kind of like I missed out on Diane Keaton because growing up as a millennial (sorry), it was hard to move past her support for Woody Allen.

It's frustrating that men take fun women away from us in that way too...

So Bad Bunny playing the Super Bowl is bad, but bankrolling the president of Argentina's narcissistic rock concert is okay?!?! Both are in Spanish!

We’re clearly in a cultural moment when any attempt to make public figures who committed sexual violence pay a price for their crimes has disappeared. When Woody Allen dies, the obituaries will all talk about “Annie Hall,” and the abuse will appear in an aside at the end of the article, if at all.
“I made movies for an audience of one, Diane Keaton,” Woody Allen wrote in a remembrance on Sunday. She was Allen’s creative muse as well as his romantic partner and eventually, after their split, a trusted friend — one that remained loyal to him amid the abuse allegations he faced.

Susan Abulhawa has also called Zelenskyy a "Nazi promoting zionist" and "far more dangerous than Putin." I always cringe when I see people share anything from her. I find it especially frustrating when I see people characterize any criticism of her as anti-Palestinian censorship.
This is not a random person, but the writer of "Mornings in Jenin," the most widely-read Palestinian novel of all time.

This person is opining on Jewish history without knowing anything about it. None of this is true about the concept of Jewish peoplehood.
