Seems like you should decide whether you built a consumer-facing social network with terms of service or a glorified message board where you’re the most important poster because it can’t be both.
We’re system architects at core. We built a decentralized network so you could run your own moderation, but beyond that our upcoming healthy discourse project is taking some swings at the interaction model that drives these dynamics on Bluesky. Excited to start seeing it in action.

one reason i don't complain much about bluesky's (terrible) moderation is because you're supposed to hate the mods. there has never been a good mod. best case scenario, a poster sacrifices his humanity and takes on the mantle knowing he will be villified, spat on, name cursed for generations, etc

The debate around what is or isn’t “cancel culture” really just obscures a simple truth that it’s BAD to be massively racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic and it’s GOOD to speak out against injustice. Some things are good and some things are bad and it’s okay to say which you think are which.
