Was exactly the same with child benefit. Unfortunately there is no easy or cheap way to administer such things. They tried using pension credit, which was there & ready, but it was way too low. Now it may be pensioners have to complete tax returns for clawback from those not entitled. Same as CB.

Had a chat with a friend from Abu Dhabi this morning. She & her kids all have autism diagnoses. She is literally terrified of how social care is in the Uk & now I’m afraid for Son #1. He seems happy enough though. It’s hard being a parent, but being special needs parent, I can’t lie, is really hard.

And she is correct. Social workers and police have been working hard to make a difference since the reports were released. The IICSA inquiry is complete and looked at all sections of society. What is needed now is implementation and audit of effectiveness of that implementation.
