The Bayeux Tapestry, a 70 meter long medieval masterpiece created by artisan women, is actually an embroidery in crewel (wool yarn) on a linen ground. Depicting the Norman conquest of England, it was made in the 11th century & will be displayed at the British Museum this year. #WomensArt
