Pinned
This is a post that is pinned. It has art I’ve made in 2024.

That’s it. That’s the post.
I made this silly little birthday card for my mom in under an hour. I don’t ever use colored pencil, but I didn’t have time to wait for paint to dry. She said she didn’t need any cards this year. I think she’ll make an exception for this one.

(She isn’t on BlueSky so she won’t see this :) )

Another watercolor. Twice the size of the last. The skill is better but the face is still off. I’ll try, try, try again.

My Sim painted for a day straight and created several masterpieces. I painted through the entirety of “Hamilton”, and only made a tiny watercolor.

(I’m about to delete Steam again. Over the past two days I’ve probably played cozy games for 16 hours. It’s getting out of hand.)

It’s Monday. As we all work today, a few tips:

1) you still have freedom of speech, but what you can say at work is limited. Embrace it here after hours.

2) your social media platforms and who you follow is your business, not anyone’s at the office.

Glad that Kansas City’s misogynistic kicker, Taylor Swift’s smug-faced boyfriend, and my aunt are all going to bed disappointed tonight.

I did this Ghostworld painting back in 2022. It still hasn’t found a home.
It’s gotten pretty dinged up from going to so many shows over the past three years, so I decided to give it a little make over.

Whenever I start doing teeny detail work I think I’ll fly through it. That’s never the case.

The painting in the video is still a WIP, but the stippling paid off. Literally hours of my life lost to painting individual hair follicles.

The Weeknd’s done it again. My review in haiku:

“Singing through his pain
His prodigal voice returned
Five out of five stars.”

I upset my mom by called Led Zeppelin “Hobbit Music.”

She does not believe me, and has been in denial that Led Zeppelin is nerdy and always has been.

And before anyone is like “Well Mads, what about the occult stuff?” I counter with this screen cap about Tarot from King of the Hill:

I hate when people say you were born with talent.
I didn't fly out of the womb with a tiny pencil in my hand. I mean, that would have been cool, albeit dangerous, but no, I was born without the pencil.
I had to spend years and years practicing to get where I am and I still have a lot to learn!
