The only thing more quintessentially Harvard than Harvard’s response is all the people using the news as an opportunity to let us know, sometimes overtly, sometimes obliquely, but always with much regret, that they went to Harvard.

SCOOP: Now that Linda McMahon is confirmed/sworn in as secretary, Trump will be imminently issuing an executive order eliminating the Department of Education.

I’ve obtained a draft of an email that McMahon will be sending to staff re: the EO and the department’s “final mission”.

Here is a portion:

"coffee is only good when it is served in jim crow conditions"
Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

This is why we have a process to vet and promote civil servants based on merit, not a friendship with some rich guy. How dare Elon Musk bully and threaten good people who spent their careers serving the American people when he brings this level of gross incompetence to his work. 2/

I’m on my way to the Treasury Dept to demand answers. Billionaire-in-Chief Elon Musk has been given illegal access to Americans’ private info, including Social Security numbers.

Zero people voted for Elon to run our government. This is about oversight and transparency.

Trump is letting the richest man in the world wreak havoc on our government. It's unconstitutional and it's dangerous. Democrats must fight back. And that starts by voting no on his nominees. I urge my colleagues to join me. We cannot confirm any more of Trump's chaos cabinet.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

To review, the FAA administrator was forced out because of a business vendetta of Elon Musk’s, Trump froze the hiring of new ATCs despite staff shortages, Musk launched an underhanded attempt to hollow out the whole federal workforce, and then the first US airliner crashed in 16 years.

Sounds like a cheap hit. But maybe it wasn’t a great time to freeze hiring of new air traffic controllers for no reason why there was already a shortage. I’m not sure this is a stretch.
