Good morning dear friends, he is today’s #Motification. I’ve spoken to Mo @helpcatsmsallam and he’s fine but it was a bad night, several buildings were bombed in his area. He went to the market early and got a good parcel of vegetables for about $110 so prices are a bit less.

Whilst a ceasefire is very welcome news, it's problematic. For Biden to start directing a normalisation with Israel/Saudi is disingenuous #GazaGenocide

Under the terms Netanyahu has 60 days to withdraw troops at which point Trump is sworn in. Buying for time? www.ft.com/content/6110...

The benefits bill is so high because we use it to fund low wages by employers and high rent by landlords.

Totally agree the minimum wage is not close to good enough, after pension it's around £1600 a month for a full time worker.

Even living without big overheads is so difficult as soon as an emergency hits that person will instantly end up in debt.
Hunger is a violation of basic human rights – we should be outraged by UK's food bank crisis.

Work doesn't pay. 38% of universal credit claimants are at work.

1% has more wealth than 70% of the population combined.

Must redistribute income/wealth. Tax the rich.

russia is attacking Ukraine with Tu-160 bombers which they received from us 25 years ago
The investigative project “Schemes” revealed that Ukraine transferred these planes to russia in the 1990s in exchange for clearing its gas debt
At least 6 of them are now actively used by the russian military

Last time Trump imposed tariffs on China

They retaliated against American soybean farmers-who then lost all their Chinese buyers

And the farmers had to get bailed out by subsidies

So not only were the tariffs an abject failure

They wound up costing the American people $23 billion in subsidies

How can anyone say COP 29 was anything other than a failure when there is still NO COMMITMENT TO END FOSSIL FUELS USE?

COP is little more than a PR wheeze to make it look as if western governments are doing something.

Can anyone convince me otherwise?

And if it wants to reduce the benefits bill, how about tackling low wages and high rents that benefits are used to subsidise?

Labour's latest attack on welfare is a disgraceful assault on the dignity of the sick and disabled.

If the government really wanted to crack down on people "gaming the system", they would go after tax dodgers hoarding our country's wealth.

The government failed to confirm Netanyahu would be immediately arrested in the UK, despite an ICC warrant.

They admitted UK-made F-35 parts could violate international law, yet continue selling arms.

When will the government end its complicity in genocide & end all arms sales?
