Whole fucking thing makes me sick to my stomach. An abject fucking liar, a man who lies as easily as he fucking breathes, threatening an organisation which strives for truthfulness. And plastic patriots like the Mail and Farage urging him on. Jackels.

It will be led by Matt Goodwin, a man in his mid-forties, and it looked exactly like you imagine. ~AA

The key is to raise taxes enough to actually be able to do something with it, beyond placating the OBR and bond markets
Breaking the tax pledge is the right call...and politically sulphurous. Reeves must argue, far more forcefully, that taxes are *the* essential downpayment we all pay for a fairer society.

Patrick Diamond and I wrote for @renewaljournal.bsky.social. Key points in 🧵 👇

If Labour want a fairer society, they must argue for it
Labour must make the political argument: taxes are the critical downpayment we all pay to live in a fairer society.  It now seems all but certain that direct taxes will rise in the forthcoming Budget...

21 out of 33 Conservative shadow ministers in the Lords have paid jobs outside Parliament.

Shadow ministers paid to ‘advise’ the same industries they’re meant to scrutinise. Conflict of interest institutionalized. Paymasters served.

Can't get good society without ending political bribery.

Aren’t they all? This is how Tories and Reform really think. Convinced of their own superiority and right to power, they’re quick to be sneering, racist and bitter when they fail. Always blaming. Never taking responsibility. Or feeling any shame. Cummings is nothing. But god he’s furious about that.
For anyone still tempted to take Dominic Cummings at all seriously, he's now an advocate of Donald Trump-style open racism.
