Can someone show the White House Press Corpse a montage of the reporters who covered previous administrations, the ones who weren't complete cowards?

A long thread but worth reading to the end. Tanja sums up what a great many people are thinking, but in clear and concise language. Let's hope our government can change course before it's too late.
When I was a teenager there was a bus direct from my hometown in Germany to London - we had a British army base, and this direct bus connection was one of the benefits of that. One summer I went on that bus to go volunteer in an old people's home in Southend-on-Sea. I had just turned 18 and was... 🧵

If using AI is such hard work, why not just write the thing yourself in the first place and save some time!
That last line is one of the absolute single scariest things to me and that it was said with such casual happiness is even more disturbing.

Not distressing.

Full tilt disturbing.
imagine relying on AI to write your bio and then having the nerve to say you're witty and full of personality

New rule. A parent may only propose removing a book from the school library only after reading it in its entirety and delivering a book report to the librarian. Until then no discussion shall be entered into.

NEW RESULT: Democrats have flipped a state Senate in Iowa.

This was a seat Trump carried by 11%, but Democratic nominee Catherine Drey has just won it by 10.4%.

This is the second legislative flip by Dems in Iowa this year. It also means the GOP loses its supermajority in Iowa’s senate.

AI is for writers who don’t like to write but want to have written, and readers who don’t like to read but want to have read.

Into the sea with the whole miserable joyless fucking lot of them.
People are reading AI-generated synopses of books and then claiming they read 100 books in a week. This is how the abolition of books began in Fahrenheit 451: classics were condensed into five-minute summaries for those too busy to do the reading. Later came the burnings.

Amen!
Dress it up in progressive language but you're cheating yourself by not doing the work. This is the worst thing about AI: millions of students refusing to learn, taking zero interest in the world around them, empty in mind and heart. Your punishment is the person you will become.

Streeting is utterly delusional! He wants to wreck the NHS and the country with it.

I wonder how his private healthcare stock is doing …
In Canada, people voted against Maple Trumpism because there was a principled centrist leader who said "elbows up". In Australia, people voted against Bunyip Trumpism because their centre left leader made the rightwinger look like a pound shop villain. In the UK, .... errr, ... words.... fail.

Why should we not forget the Holocaust?
🧵 1/n
Because it was one of the most horrific crimes in human history.
Because it was committed by one of the most advanced countries in the world, disproving the idea that more advanced societies are inherently more moral than less advanced societies.
