At the Ward 8 for a New Mayor rally last Saturday, Commissioner Angela Conley said the county's been trying to work with the mayor on homelessness for seven years and he's shut them out.

if a Frey challenger wins, especially Fateh, Chicago organizers will have so much wisdom for us about how to prepare for this. This is what Mayor Johnson and his admin have experienced. & to the Mary Moriarty parallel, also State's Attorney Kim Foxx, before she stepped down in 2024 after two terms
I was talking to a non-minneapolitan friend about the Minneapolis mayoral race and I genuinely think that if Frey is replaced by someone who defeats him—not replaced by someone after choosing not to run again—that next mayor is going to be ripped to shreds no matter who it is.

Our current city council member not only didn't have any budget amendments, she missed at least part of the budget meeting.
Ward 8 needs a leader who shows up, actively listens to residents, and works with our community to implement meaningful policy solutions to the problems we face. I am running to be that leader. As your City Council member, I am ready to lead with you, as a neighbor first.

I'm so hyped to be part of Soren's team again this year.
My name is Soren Stevenson. I am a renter in the Lyndale neighborhood, a union member, and a survivor of police violence. I’m running for City Council in Ward 8 because my neighbors deserve a kinder, safer Minneapolis. That future isn’t just necessary - it’s within reach.

we have no idea how long digital (cloud) storage actually lasts. We already know it's at the whims of people

Archival paper lasts at least 3 centuries, also at the whims of people.

Just think about it ok

Tareq, his wife, and their two small children need more support to survive, cross the border, and rebuild their lives. They don't know if they will ever be able to return to their home in northern Gaza, or if there will be anything to return to. If you can give any amount, please consider it!

perhaps given the number of slack channels I'm currently neglecting, adding this to the mix is a bit delusional. on the other hand those slack channels are noticably lacking in hyperlocal twin cities political gossip
