Unhoused folks and "crime" aren't destroying our small businesses, runaway landlord greed is. If a James Beard winner w/ a line out the door can't survive, who can?

We need a vacancy tax on commercial property.

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

I LOVE UNIVERSAL PROGRAMS!

Portland can be the best and most affordable place in the nation to raise a family, through the power of preschool for all, Inner Eastside for All, and building out a complete all ages bicycle network.
Multnomah County expects its universal preschool program to see a significant boost in enrollment, starting next fall. On Thursday morning, the county announced plans to offer more than 7,400 Preschool for All seats to early education providers for the 2026-27 school year.

since we're doing USPS discourse again, a reminder of what Dems should be saying
"the USPS is a miracle. it's in the constitution. for the price of a single stamp you can send a letter across the country, from Hawaii to Maine. Trump is trying to take that away from you. He's attacking Christmas cards and wedding invitations. It's un-American and it has to stop."

We're in a climate emergency, our DOTs are out of $, we need affordable transportation. People have to bike.

We need accountability from engineers, police, courts, each other.

In our screwed up country all you have to do is say "oops I'm sorry" after running a red light and hitting a bike rider with your car (and sending them to hospital w a broken ankle) and the police won't even give you a ticket. I'm fuming!!

This is how pro-driver bias influences PPB.

And if Republicans refuse?
Democrats should refuse to fund the government again until those subsidies are restored.
