Novltex: A New Class of Antibiotics with Potent Activity against Multidrug-Resistant Bacterial Pathogens─Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation

My body hurts and will probably hurt way more tomorrow.

But it’s a lot less pain than what our neighbors are enduring inside the Broadview ICE facility.
@katmabu.bsky.social how are you doing after being thrown on the ground like that?

They just tear-gassed us. They tried to run us over in a van holding a peaceful protester. They shot us with pepper balls. They dragged another protester into the facility.
moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot.

one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

Multiple detainees described a disturbing incident where dozens of men were forced to eat food they had been denied all day while shackled.

“We had to bend over and eat off the chairs with our mouths, like dogs,” — from a new Human Rights Watch report.

Criminalizing the unhoused is evil no matter what, but it’s especially evil to do so in a country where 40-60% of people experiencing homelessness have jobs. You can’t “outwork” a broken system. Tr*mp is just punishing people for being poor in a country that systemically keeps them poor.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

So many bug fixes that *do* go out are just because some dev got annoyed and did it on the side when management said they should have been working on something else.

Almost all of the bugs and problems and breakage in the software you use is known to the engineers, we just aren't allowed to fix it. Gotta ship new features.

The number of parents that don't care much about their kids and/or have very thinly veiled resentment against them is much higher than most people think.
