This is Bloomberg's measure of bond market liquidity, which compares actual yield curves to synthetic smooth yield curves for each country. The more kinks you have in the yield curve, the higher this index and the worse is liquidity. UK off the charts, France rising rapidly. Germany and US are ok.

Important article by @efinkel.bsky.social . I know fm listening to some Russian 'liberals' that even in 'enlightened' Russian intelligentsia the idea that Ukraine is inherently Russian & can't be allowed to make its own foreign policy choices is deeply rooted. Conflict won't end till that changes.
For @thespectator1828.bsky.social, I write about the existing peace plans for Ukraine. They are doomed to fail because they completely ignore the key causes of the war: identity and ideology. Here is what the West should ultimately do instead of pointless arguments about NATO, guarantees and borders
Why the Ukraine peace plans are doomed to fail
The US and Britain are busy with their plans to stop the war in Ukraine. President Trump is pressuring Kyiv to freeze the war, keeping the Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine under Moscow’s control. I...

REPORTER: Are you gonna make it US policy that the US wouldn't defend NATO countries that don't pay their fair share?

TRUMP: Well, I think it's common sense. If they don't pay I'm not gonna defend them. No, I'm not gonna defend them.

There is no country/zone with a) high prices and low carbon emissions or b) with low prices and high emissions.

The higher the carbon emissions from electricity generation in 2024, the higher the prices and vice versa.

Water supply of strategic Baltic island Gotland was sabotaged last night.

Someone broke into the pump controls and destroyed them.

The pumps serve a large part of Gotland (pop 61k) and had it gone unnoticed could have left all island without water.

Security services are notified. Water is ok.
