As a sex therapist in training, this is one of my pet peeves. Addiction in general is already a misunderstood topic; adding sex to that makes it more so.
Our society is steeped in puritanical prudishness & this is why everyone, *including* adults, needs access to comprehensive inclusive sex ed.

Turns out that Certified Sex Addiction Therapists are more likely (compared to others) to be: hetero, married, monogamous, religious and wealthy w/ higher levels of moral disapproval of porn. UnSurprisingly, they also over diagnose porn & sex addiction.

Watching my GF with over a decade of experience as a full stack dev struggle to find employment - esp in game dev, which is where she really wants to be - whilst knowing nobody cared about her experience when they thought she was a man, is enraging. And makes me feel so helpless. 😖
