Cynicism is as delusional as idealism.

Ignoring the positive parts of objective reality doesn't make you realistic, it makes you cynical. And deciding to act upon your values despite seeing that all odds are against you is not idealism, it's bravery.

The Irish Navy had a ship present, but 'made the decision not to shoot down the drones', though the article also notes it the vessel did not have the capacity to disable the drones.

A huge reminder that Irish neutrality does not protect it from hybrid attacks.

Ru has been doing this bs forever. In 1968, the USSR claimed it was defending itself in Czechoslovakia. And many in the IR field are channeling this same energy by pushing forward arguments about NATO expansion's provocation and Ru's pre-emptive war.
🤡 Putin: Our “Special Military Operation” is not the start of a war, but rather an attempt to end one that the West ignited using Ukrainian nationalists.

Guess it suddenly gets blurry when it’s Trump issuing the unlawful orders.

Wild how people like this, just like russians, still can’t comprehend that the Revolution of Dignity wasn’t staged. It was Ukrainians choosing freedom over fear. Imperialists and small minds always assume someone else must be pulling the strings, because they’ve never seen a nation with a spine.

Their home was destroyed by a Russian strike, and after three days without food, they set out on foot until police rescued them.

I disagree. Degrading Ru's capacity to wage war is the only feasible way to end the war and even if this particular attack won't end the war, a series of those could. The window for diplomacy has never been cracked even a tiny bit for it to be closing.
