While I've got your attention, people seem to want to hear me talk about my arrest, and interviews are cool, but you can feel free to come to @lakestreetchurch.bsky.social at 10:30AM Central to hear a HOPE-FILLED sermon about yesterday's events. Livestreamed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1Qi...

Chicagoans are standing up to Trump’s authoritarian and violent grip on immigrants. Mexican people, in particular, have made Chicago great. 🇲🇽

White people. People of color. Rich people. Poor people. People of faith. All fighting for human rights. ⬇️
Cook County deputies, Illinois State Police, and Broadview police just arrested at least 8 to 10 people, including several faith leaders.

State police in riot gear now arriving.

Bravo Ypsilanti, Michigan! “'The Ypsilanti City Council strongly opposes the Los Alamos-University of Michigan data center due to its connections to nuclear weapons modernization and potential environmental harms...'”

Data centers use precious drinking water and drain energy. Citizens speak out.

The BBC - for all its flaws - remains the greatest news and broadcasting service in the world.

It is everything Donald Trump and his cabal of nasty little nobodies will never be and we need to defend it.

This is part of a larger trend. Interest and discussion of climate in both parties peaked in 2021/2022.

Experts say there's a few things at work here -- Trump drawing attention away from climate, inflation and economic pain.

Climate change is out. Energy affordability is in.
A Washington Post analysis of Democratic lawmakers’ appearances and social media posts show they are going quiet on climate.

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Shameful Washington Post editorial board. 1. Calls Mamdani the Italian name for a general. 2. Calls goal of affordable housing and child care favoritism. (His "goal is not to increase wealth but to dole it out to favored groups.") They are out of their minds! www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

When you cross the street, don’t look down at your phone.

When you talk to someone, don’t look down at your phone.

Common sense. Common courtesy.

When I came to Washington, DC after college, there were only 2 women in the Senate and 29 women in the House. And I'm old but not THAT old (57 y.o.) That was in 1990 (101st Congress). Young women looked for role models. Thank you Nancy Pelosi.
