Republicans on Oversight held a hearing attacking NPR & PBS. Now Trump’s following up by slashing funding for local public media that keep families informed & kids learning. As Vice Ranker, I’m calling it what it is: an assault on truth & accountability.
Trump says he's ending federal funding for NPR and PBS. They say he can't
In an executive order, President Trump directs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to stop funding NPR and PBS. They say he can't. PBS chief Paula Kerger calls it "blatantly unlawful".

The Republicans aren’t listening to anybody but Trump. They know how detrimental these cuts will be to their constituents but instead of developing a backbone, standing up to Trump, & doing what’s right—they’re too scared, too spineless, & too sold out to fight for the folks they represent.

Not only are they ignoring climate change—they’re trying to cover up the cost. Shutting down NOAA’s disaster tracking so we can’t see the BILLIONS it’s costing us? This ain’t solving the crisis—it’s hiding it.
US will stop tracking the costs of extreme weather fueled by climate change
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said it will no longer track the cost of weather disasters, including floods, heat waves, wildfires and more

He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons.

He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him.

He’s defying the Supreme Court.

Don’t you see what’s happening here?

DOGE Oversight Subcommittee held a hearing on reducing federal property. All they said was “fire sale” this, “fire sale” that. Meanwhile, they’re lighting all of this s**t on fire — while their incompetent leader wastes millions of taxpayer dollars golfing, all while steering us towards a recession.

38% of people living in Mike Johnson's district were enrolled in Medicaid last year.

Yet Johnson is pushing for devastating cuts to Medicaid — all to pay for tax cuts that will predominantly go to the rich.

Is there a better encapsulation of the Republican Party?

It has now been 30 days with NO humanitarian aid getting into Gaza.

No food, no water, no medicine, no fuel.

That is barbaric. The U.S. must end our complicity in these atrocities.

- Health care and college are free.

- The starting wage is $22/hr.

- Paid parental leave is 1 year.

- Paid vacation is 6 weeks.

- All workers get pensions.

Research: in authoritarian power grabs, it’s almost never clear how to stop it at the start.

That’s why it is essential to SLOW IT DOWN. Every lawsuit, every lost file, every peaceful protest that delays illegal destruction of our core institutions matters.

The result: working class people die 7 years earlier than the rich.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.
