Hitler is only invading Russia and France and burning Jews and political enemies in gas chambers to distract from his inability to reduce prices for ordinary Germans.

If you don’t think we’re in a constitutional crisis— I can’t help you— but if you do and you think governors should just politely sit after the president berates a governor and proclaims he is federal law. Man, I don’t know.

There are three house special elections coming up and it does look like that Dem candidates are seriously raising money in FL-06 and NY-21. Josh Weil is a progressive candidate running for FL-06 and has already raised half a million, Blake Gendebien for NY-21 has raised around 2M for the specials

Here in Boone, NC the only bowl they know of is the kind they destroy after gorging on pork rinds. But they do know this: republicans had a mandate to repeal all of Obama’s legislative achievements in 2011.

A lot of what Trump is doing is for show. To shock and awe us so we give up. Look at the “mass layoffs” they’re just asking people to resign because they don’t actually have the power.

It’s incumbent upon us not to concede in advance.

In 2028, when (and if) Dems win.. (assuming that a fair election will happen), Dems must work hard on restraining executive power and strengthen mechanisms for checks and balances. I don't know how that can be done, and what specifically, but it's clear it needs to be done.

If you like the Trader Joe's frozen Indian meals (which are actually pretty decent), stock up on them. They are a product of Canada. AND. Many products in Trader Joe's are imported. Might as well stock up on them.. spent more than $300 on groceries today, thanks Trump!

I miss the days from 2021-mid 2024 when I didn't have the need to be constantly connected to the news.. now it's like they attack every vulnerable community every day.. and the core of America.

Foreign Relations Chair Risch certainly not objecting to new tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China

“No surprise, least of all to those countries and their leaders. These governments know very well that they need to stem the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into our country”

Absolutely. We live in a post-truth world. Democrats must play dirty and twist facts as needed to win. Otherwise we won't win anything.

So.. last 4 years.. we had a boring President, and we didn't need to be tuned into the news worrying about healthcare being taken away. American voters chose to give chaos and anxiety. We could've had stability with Kamala. Oh well.

This supermajority Hispanic part of New Jersey just outside NYC has nearly 1 million people and shifted 45 points between 2016 and 2024

Clinton won it by 60%, Biden won it by 45% and Harris only won this by 15%

The problem with the American electorate is.. we want Government to do transformational things (healthcare, infrastructure).. and when that is done, there is political blowback because.. we don't approve of what was done. Make it make sense.

I remember in the early days of mass internet, there was a thought that broad/universal access to the world's information would cause a decrease in religiosity. 25 years late, religiosity around the world and across all religions is higher than ever.

Kind of a cool thing here with MD of PA and the confirmation of Judge Neary.

At the start of Biden's term in 2020, the make up of this district was 3-3 with regards to GOP and Dem nominated judges.

After this confirmation, it will be 5-1 Dem to GOP.

Love to see this in a critical state!
The Senate has convened...The first vote is at 11:30 a.m. on confirmation of Keli Neary to be a District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Following the vote the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly caucus luncheons. Further votes are expected.

Back in 2021, Biden signed an executive order to ensure Gov agencies acted in the interest of people seeking benefits.. and to provide proper customer service with improved access. That has been impactful. I wonder how badly things will crumble with new admin.
