Comedian flirting with science, or scientist experimenting with comedy. Some poetry sometimes. But still, no rhyme or reason.

It's 18° in #Newcastle today, and most people are in jackets and jumpers... I don't think I understand humanity

I am very much enjoying #Severance at the moment, very excited for the finale. I have only one complaint, and it shares this with Relevant and Equivalence. I can't write it without having an existential crisis over what 'e' and 'a' really are

I really enjoy people adding "for my sins" to the end of sentences you wouldn't think need it

I often make the less vs fewer mistake. If our universe is inherently quantum, does that mean I can drop less entirely?

While playing #Balatro, I'm apparently incapable of playing any deck that isn't the Plasma Deck... The numbers are the most fun

On today's episode of idioms I don't understand: It's always darkest before the dawn.

It only works if you define dawn as when it starts getting lighter again... in which case it's just a dull tautology.

Unproductive rant: Anyone else plagued by the T.R.I.P. national highways adverts? Is it just me who finds it infuriating? It doesn't work as an acrostic. The 'I' is for inspect tyre pressure and tread. P and T are already taken, and P is prepare for weather, so should be W. Is it useful to anyone?!

I recently watched #Nosferatu (2024). There were lots of good performances, and lots of cool shots. But I was... bored by the story. I haven't seen the original. Did I miss something? I'd love to hear from people that loved it.

Attended a funeral this morning. For a family member in their 80s. Listening to the story of their life, sounds like they were ND in a society that didn't allow that. So much misery and intergenerational trauma that could have been lessened. I know there's a long way to go, but we are getting there

I absolutely love #TedLasso and #Shinking. I have rewatched them as much as is safe to do without losing the joy. I am in need of something similar to watch. A safe heartwarming comedy-drama. Any recommendations please?
