🏥 Hospitals built with PFI were found to be 70% more expensive than public builds.

Private partnerships were costly and ineffective last time — saddling the NHS with decades of debt.

So why bring them back… and who really benefits? 👀

this is insane
New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

On the whole customs union debate, worth bearing a few things in mind. The 'research' on which the claims of economic benefit are based isn't about a CU but about the EU accepting 'deep alignment on goods and services' - which it won't. 1/3

Totally agree, Alice.💪

We should also lift ludicrous restrictions on bringing dependents that have caused a massive decline in overseas applications for PhDs, Masters courses etc...

The system based on tuition fees is ludicrous and unsustainable already without cutting a major income source 🙄

It's the culmination of a series of cool calculations:
1 × 1 = 1
11 × 11 = 121
111 × 111 = 12321
1111 × 1111 = 1234321
11111 × 11111 = 123454321
111111 × 111111 = 12345654321
1111111 × 1111111 = 1234567654321
11111111 × 11111111 = 123456787654321

It’s a one-stop-shop for logging thd lot. And the neta-analysis of what is happening is very enlightening… darkly.
