I would like to thank the people of the Internet for allowing me to see things from their homes and gardens (even if often heavily redacted and cropped🙃) so that I, as a disabled woman, can see really cool stuff. Your cat? Show me. Your new couch? Totally. The hike? Yes, plz. I REVEL in it.

I actually think it's kind of important that all those opposed to the nationalist repressions on the march around the world today figure out ways to be in solidarity across borders rather than participating in the same kinds of nationalist essentialism motivating our enemies.

Not a joke. Don't need it anymore. In the "splash zone" obviously, but it's a nice a place as any to wait it out. Keys are in the shed and the paperwork is on the counter. I'm taking the catamaran out as far as she'll go

A pal sent me this asking “is this sound?” knowing how mad I get at diabetes scaremongering and yeah, happily most of it is! Pushes back at the stereotype that diabetes is anyone’s ‘fault’ and most importantly refuses to treat it as an eventual death sentence www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
The things people with diabetes want you to be aware of
We spoke to six people with three different types of diabetes to find out what they wish more of the public knew. Here's what they had to say.

I am personally leery around the idea of diabetes ‘remission’ just as the numbers are very low and you’ll still be having to monitor glucose, diet and exercise forever, I think it can float into areas of irresponsibility to say to type 2 folks it’s achievable when again, it’s 10-15% at best

Couple of weeks ago they reneged on publishing a story about the Albanese Government sneakily granting police powers to request welfare cancellations. Indeed they've not published one story on that topic. I received whinging from an employee of the organisation for stating this plain fact publicly.

A "serious power" is not an acceptable euphemism for breaching the right to due process.

The list of groups opposing this move is growing, with NATSILS, the Australian Council of Social Services and Economic Justice Australia speaking out today.

back in the 50s, my then-teenaged uncles built remote-controlled model planes from scratch without the use of transistors. the middle brother's one was rocket-powered; he made the solid state fuel for it himself. when flown the plane had a 3 ft tail of red sparks... (1/2)
I don't need the lore behind your favorite posters... tell me about your uncles
