🖋️ “Stop the coup. Protect the Post Office. No cuts to Medicare & Medicaid” hit 2,000 signers!
Stop the coup. Protect the Post Office. No cuts to Medicare & Medicaid
Text SIGN PWOSWK to 50409 — Trump is not a king yet he is imposing his will by illegal EOs, trashing the constitution, now claiming the power to interpret laws. He tried to interfere in NY's sovereignty & then issued a picture of King Trump. Speak out for state authority or another state will be next. He is making a mockery of our federal system. I hope you are enraged by the huge cost of his attendance at the Super Bowl & Daytona 500. Did your colleagues forget that the United States was born in a struggle against a tyrannical king? States' rights are a founding principle. Now it is reported that Trump wants to destroy the Post Office. This too is unconstitutional. The PO was created by Congress. Please read Robert Hubbell: "Such a move would be unconstitutional. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution provides that Congress may “establish Post Offices and post Roads.” Congress passed the Postal Service Act in 1792... Over the ensuing two centuries, the Post Office was expanded & reorganized by the Post Office Consolidation Act of 1872 and the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970. The latter transformed the “Post Office” into the U.S. Postal Service, an independent agency managed by a Board of Governors. The US Postal Service is a statutory agency created by Congress. Trump cannot “dissolve” the US Postal Service, nor can he dismiss the Board of Governors or merge the US Postal Service into the Department of Commerce. Such moves would negate the legislative authority of Congress." Trump & Musk are already negating the legislative & appropriations functions of Congress. I am appalled Congress's failure to assert its legal, constitutional, co equal status and defend its powers. Appropriations chairs in House & Senate have been shamefully supine. Do better on the Post Office. In just a month Trump and Musk have caused colossal damage to America and her allies, to human lives, rights, and safety, to the rule of law and the our agencies. Stop this coup. What you are doing to serve me, your constituent, and to uphold the constitution? *Please make criminal referrals of Musk and his gang. *Speak out about the Post Office and protect it. *pass no budgets which slash social security, Medicare, Medicaid *pass no spending bill which explodes the deficit and get appropriation chairs to use their leverage. * speak out for impeaching Trump; advance the impeachment in your chamber *Talk to your colleagues; find the courage to expose Trump's threats. I've had enough of watching Trump rape America, poison the discourse with hate, betray our allies to Putin & hand federal agencies to unqualified malevolent partisan wreckers. Congress is failing to check this criminal executive overreach. Do your job

Odds are good that someone in your life has received vital care at a university-affiliated hospital near you.

Trump and Musk want to destroy them. Call your reps and demand they push back -- especially if they're Republicans.

Of course they took away the CFPB. Anything that protects us is or will be removed.
And just like that, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau homepage, consumerfinance.gov, is being erased. As of January 30, 2025, CFPB enforcement actions resulted in
$19.7 billion in consumer relief.

This world and the USA will not be around for centuries.
I just want to say for the record that when the history books are written centuries from now, I believe the election of Donald Trump in a free and fair election in 2024 will go down as one of the most senseless and self-destructive own goals in human history

This means our national parks will be even more vulnerable to poaching.

Accurate headline. Clearly this administration’s current priorities are to put as many unqualified people everywhere they can in our government, cause chaos, put a halt on lifesaving clinical research, fire experts and be as petty and racist as possible. And what about EGGS?🥚

I work in clinical research. This means the work toward a potential cure or treatment for you, or someone you know has been halted. People will die waiting to join a study. Clinical research is the only way to discover new treatments or cures. This is an outrage and will have serious consequences.
There are currently 67,102 studies registered at clinicaltrials.gov that are (well, were, probably, until this week) actively recruiting participants, and 20,690 studies that are active but not recruiting right now. This is SO many people we're talking about.
This is happening to thousands of people fighting for their lives because in real life, government does a lot of good and important shit.
