A worthy cause. Just $5000 from the $50,000 goal.

Batman & the Outsiders, Star trek, Camelot 3000, if you were reading mainstream comics in the 1980s, you know Mike Barr.

With its largest company, OpenAI, likely to end up stuck in its nonprofit status and collapse into a shell of its previous fiscal capability and either be sold for parts or just blow away, the future of generative A.I., its investors and other proponents is looking increasingly bleak
“Tech leaders at WSJ’s Technology Council Summit said it’s nearly impossible to measure the impact of AI on business productivity.” Except that MIT already has.

Appropriating OUR art so they can build their money-saving image-machine and demolishing what's left of Palestine so they can build their "Gaza Riviera" on the rubble are merely two operations run by the SAME people; two fronts in the same War.

The pro-A.I. crowd just dont get that it's not going to get better. Soon, sabotaging data farms will be self-defense for human survival. It'll be the guillotine for the greedy sociopaths developing it to devour everything.
We have to somehow do better in educating people now AI actually works, because otherwise informed and trustworthy people like this keep giving it credence, and that tells me there's a big gap in the messaging and knowledge going on
I expect that consumer-facing AI programs will continue to improve and they may become much more useful tools for everyday life in the future.

But I think it was a disastrous mistake that today’s models were taught to be convincing before they were taught to be right.

What an incredible creative group. Alan Moore, a too-rare George Freeman, & early color work by Lovern Kindzierski (Digital Chameleon). The whole story has to be read to fully appreciate that sheer brilliance of all. Elegant line work. A tip of the Dark Knight's the cowl to Sprang & Robinson.

Now reading: The Judas Coin (DC) by Walter Simonson, Lovern Kindzierski, and John Workman. Don't know why I waited so long to read this, but it's excellent. Love the focus on obscure characters and the subtle and not-so-subtle stylistic variations throughout.
