🧵Go to Berlin and you will see squares of metal in the old cobblestone sidewalks in front of residential buildings.

Upon each one is a name, when the person was taken from their home, and their fate.

Thousands of them.

They are called Stolpersteine.

Cell phone is already happening. They can use a live picture of a street intersection run it through software where they can draw a square on the screen, everyone within the square has their phone ID captured. Then they run that info. backwards and gather addresses and come straight to your door.

“Someone I personally know in Minneapolis posted this to Facebook a few hours ago. This isn’t what orderly law enforcement looks like. No charge, no location info? How do you even know citizens are getting due process here?”

The decision has been made to break an American city. It is an experiment. We must do all we can (legally) to help Minneapolis hold on.
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Just to be clear, Bernie Sanders and Josh Hawley proposed a bill in the Senate a year ago, along with AOC and Luna in the House, to cap interest rates on credit cards at 10%. It is nice that Trump has suddenly decided to get on board with it in an election year.

A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

In a statement, ACLU of Wisconsin Director Ryan Cox said the DOJ has made "no secret" of its intent to share the voter data with the Department of Homeland Security and ICE, and could easily use the information to baselessly target legitimate voters for removal from the rolls.

Krugman: There’s a real question about what actually happened. This was suspiciously easy. Not based on any direct evidence, but it sure has the look of a setup.

Vance is the embodiment of the cowardice and complicity in the GOP.

In a blink of an eye, Vance went from decrying Trump as a dangerous nut who would be "America's Hitler" to happily serving as his loyal little lickspittle. He can't be shamed, but he should still be insulted as often as possible.
Shapiro: J.D. Vance is profoundly and pathetically a weak human being, and he does whatever he thinks his boss wants him to do.

What we need right now is not idiotic gaslighting from the sitting VP

He should be ashamed of himself—and he’s not. I think that speaks to the weakness of his character.

The screams from Minneapolis weren’t just the sound of a woman dying.

They were the sound of a country realizing, too late, that cruelty has become policy, and truth has become optional.

And the sadness that followed?

That’s the sound of America grieving itself.
Screams From Minneapolis
The screams didn’t echo; they lingered, exposing a government that shoots first, lies second, and leaves a grieving country to absorb the silence afterward.

How could we possibly have $10,000-$100,000 to give every Greenlander if they agree that the US can own them? Where did the $40M come from for Argentina as well as the $ to invade Venezuela…as Americans health care costs are soaring, housing costs are out of control and few jobs are being created??
