These are the proactive steps states need to be taking right now. Another thing: every Democratic governor needs to have a sit-down now with the state adjutant general to carefully review that person's understanding of their responsibilities to their state, its citizens and the federal constitution.

I know the world seems to be collapsing- but I’m actually heartened to see so many groups in Portland who are collaborating and working together for the betterment of our communities. I’m seeing this in the arts, in business and social groups. Makes me proud for our little Left Coast city.

We’ve been watching a Netflix series about Julius Cesar. And oddly enough it’s been a little reassuring…… even in 50 B.C the common themes of the world were greed and power and world domination. So in that way there’s nothing new under the sun……

I am partially participating in today’s economic blackout. I will only buy things from my local business community. Bigger corporate entities are the ones that need to feel the economic pain. Not our small shops that friends and neighbors own - every local dollar spent stays in our communities.
