these people hate DEI because they would be unemployable in any system where they couldn’t rely on favoritism and nepotism

Friendly reminder: if you are waiting on something from a US-based scientist/reviewer/editor, please realize that we're barely making it through each day putting out non-stop fires and trying not to collapse into tears. We're trying our best, but things will take longer right now. Give grace.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Today is a special day. 80 years ago today, Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz. Today, the US is courting the same political system that created it. Remember and learn from the horrors of the past so we don’t repeat them. Especially look into the Weimar Republic and the beginning of the Nazi Regime

Understand, the mass rollback on DEI is a test. We are being tested to see just how much we’ll allow corporations and our government lean into discrimination.

They won’t stop at DEI initiatives.

As a kid, I always wondered why I was so obsessed Star Wars. I always wondered why it was so important.

As an adult, I get it now. Star Wars at its core is a story about fighting authoritarianism.

After reading this article, considering the two-thirds standard in legislative votes, it seems that there’s already legislative precedent. Rosevilians and Shoreviewers, there’s a lot riding on you to vote in the upcoming special election.
“Counsel, it seems to me your interpretation is a reasonable one,” Chief Justice Natalie Hudson told assistant attorney general Liz Kramer. “But it also seems to me that respondent’s interpretation is at least equally reasonable.” But both can’t be right. buff.ly/40Boh3Y

If you feel overwhelmed by the deluge of bad news streaming out of Washington, that's by design.

Instead of feeling helpless in the face of it all, pick one or two issues that speak to you deeply and concentrate on pushing back on those.

This is not a sprint. Saving the Republic is a marathon.

The text to S.30 hasnt been posted as of now, but the summary reads "A bill to require each agency to repeal 3 existing regulations before issuing a new regulation"....This isn't efficiency. This isn't protecting consumers or workers. This is a godsend to greedy capitalists.
