History shows that oppressive systems can be overthrown, even when they seem insurmountable. What can we do locally?

Yesterday, Wilmer Chavarria, a Vermonter & US Citizen, was held and interrogated for hours in the Houston airport by CBP agents.

He's a school superintendent. So don’t try to tell us this is about removing violent criminals. This is how they use psychological terror to intimidate us into silence.

The Maine AFL-CIO is proud to support Troy Jackson for Governor of the State of Maine! Hear what workers across the state are saying about Troy's long record of standing up for workers. Troy can build a working class coalition with the best shot to win the general election!

One of the women in my special ed FB group asked, “What are we supposed to DO? Like what is the plan for what we do if our kid isn’t supported and we have to work?” I think about that a lot. There is no plan except penury, I guess. There’s nobody whose job is to care.
Other countries have social safety nets. The US has women.

If that wasn't already true, it certainly will be if these Medicaid cuts go through.

About 1 in 5 veterans go to bed hungry each day. The money used for Trump’s birthday parade could provide SNAP food assistance for nearly 18,000 veterans for an entire year.

Welp, maybe socialism is not so bad, then. Maybe socialism is what helps the people. I do wish Mr. Reich would consider things from that angle.
Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

rich Hoods Robin the working class
The GOP’s “Big Beautiful Bill” is Robin Hood in reverse: it takes from the poor to give to the rich.SNAP (used to be Food Stamps…which Tabby and I used back in 1972) is gone. Medicare is going.
