Fabian Schmidt’s family said they are unsure of why he is being held. They said he has a recently renewed green card, and no active issues in court.

A UK citizen has been detained by ICE at the Canadian border.

Becky Burke of Book Island (a picture book publisher in the UK founded by my fellow Tokarczuk translator Greet Pauwelijn) was "detained" by ICE at the Canadian border on 2/28. Her father asked that her story be shared in case someone can help her. He writes:

You may not be aware that over the last 50 years, the Supreme Court has chipped away at your Miranda rights case by case, rendering them weak and ineffective. You no longer have the right to remain silent, to an attorney, not with the foece you used to. Time for a history lesson. /🧵

1/Donald Trump signed the timeline agreement for Afghanistan withdrawal. Biden carried it out. Trump's transition team, if reporting is correct, is talking about prosecuting officers for following lawful orders. Hard to see that surviving a Rule 32 hearing (sort of like a criminal grand jury)...

I’m an enthusiastic, long-time fan of PBS. 👍🏻 While I am a frequent shopper via Amazon, I’m not a big fan of Amazon Prime Video, in part because so many videos they offer cost extra.
Amazon and PBS have formed a partnership that will see around 150 local PBS member stations available for free through the Prime Video app, as well as feeds of PBS Kids and two new PBS FAST channels, PBS Drama and PBS Documentaries. A Reading Rainbow pop-up channel is coming soon.

Ectopic pregnancy makes up 2% of all pregnancies. 10-20% of *known* pregnancies end in miscarriage. Assuming a national abortion ban, with 4 million babies born a year, thats 80,000 women dead a year from ectopic, and similar #s if not more from miscarriage infections.
