Why the fuuck are the BBC news asking Furhage for an opinion on the train attacks ? He will pour petrol on it and it just panders to his own agenda. Why not the Greens or Plaid or SNP? It's open propaganda on the part of the state broadcaster

We’re told tax is a curse and even “theft.” That’s wrong. Tax is how we build a fair society. It’s how we express our shared responsibility. The real immorality lies in avoiding tax. In this video, I explain why tax is not a burden but the foundation of democracy itself. youtu.be/4UXpnRL3WVE?...

Being Welsh is about belonging and shared values.

I was a loud south-east London girl who became Welsh, heart and soul.

Our Wales is one that welcomes, includes and builds, not one that divides.

Want to see what Reform UK's politics would look like in government?

🇦🇷 Look to Argentina. Massive spike in poverty and a crashed economy.

📉 A template for disorder and chaos.

Farage, Trump, Musk: your boy Javier Milei just took one hell of a beating. Why so quiet? | Aditya Chakrabortty
The wild politics and chainsaw made Argentina’s president an economic hero for the right. And now, with his nation’s finances in chaos: silence, writes Guardian columnist Aditya Chakrabortty

If Reform's apparent victory in the next Westminster election warrants such fawning coverage, why doesn't the same apply to other likely winners, such as Plaid Cymru in Wales?

I want the news to cover every passing thought Rhun ap Iorwerth has!!!

Well, having lived with a UK media system that has long provided more attention to US mid-term elections than devolved elections in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland and local elections in England, I'll just shrug and tell you to get used to it.
Why are the American president's claims about autism the first item on British news bulletins?

He's not our president, the advice doesn't apply here and he's not presented any evidence to support his assertions.

So why spread these claims? What make this the biggest story in the UK?

Charlie Kirk should not have been shot.

Charlie Kirk was a far right racist, transphobe, misogynist, and spreader of hate.

These two things are true.

He was not, as the BBC seems intent on misleading us, some sort of hero who was widely loved and adored by all who met him.

Grimly crisp illustration of the mechanism whereby toxic and unrepresentative social media shapes mainstream coverage.

Prominent journalist logs onto X, sees claim, assumes truth, repeats in national broadcast from trusted mainstream news org.

Happens all day every day, just especially stark here.
Justin Webb just referred on Today to "platforms like Bluesky, where you can see the celebration of the killing" of Charlie Kirk.

What I'm seeing on here is overwhelming condemnation; despair at the violence of US politics; alarm at where this might go; & calls for equal horror at other shootings.

If the test is "their English is good enough, they aren't allowed an interpreter" you're automatically stacking the odds against systemically minoritized languages. I know plenty of Welsh speakers with excellent English who'd still rather express themselves in Welsh - politically *and* practically

A very important moment in history. Smallpox killed untold millions of people before the vaccine existed.
July 13, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I was vaccinated against smallpox. My brother ( 2 and a half years younger) was not. Why? Because vaccination had eliminated the disease from the world by then. An object lesson or what?
If your child has missed their vaccinations, go to the GP and get them done, even if they are now teenagers.
This is catastrophic
