My organization, @bscs.bsky.social, was founded over 60 yrs ago in response to Sputnik & the recognition that rapid investment in #SciEd was needed to spur innovation. Investment in education research has given rise to HQIM, like #OpenSciEd, & new ways to promote shifts in classroom practices. 1/4

Getting this news the same day we got our uni’s proposed journal cut list gives me grave concerns about how will not only disseminate research results, but how we will teach new scholars. It’s sad.
Librarians are trying to plan for the 45% reduction of ERIC. While the Department of Education has not (yet) released a title list of journals that are being de-selected, we're trying to create a list via a grassroots effort. View and contribute journal titles here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

I remember studying in Denmark back when and our host institution telling the Americans hogging the computer lab that if we were emailing more than an hour a week, it was too much.
looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.
