Pre-Covid, I taught T’s NGSS constructively from the dimensions up to building a PE. That gives T’s bldg blocks for revising, creating, or identifying NGSS instruction. But post-Covid, I want to use #OpenSciEd to illustrate.

(2/2)...students arrive in my class w/ major skills & knowledge gaps after years of CPM Math and OpenSciEd (which are "all green" on EdReports). Many admins believe in EdReports, and it's hard to convince them of its flaws. I think EdReports augmenting their ratings in this way is a great solution.

Inaugural “Navigating #OpenSciEd for K-5 Teachers” class for Ferndale SD today! It went very well with unit 3.1 as the model Lesson 1! Granted, a multi-day training would be better, but we tried to fit into one day the best stuff we could. :) #edusky #edusci #scied #ngsschat #ngss

I do not. But the Framework for K-12 Science Education was built with the College Board’s Science Colllege Readiness standards incorporated into them. Also, OpenSciEd concept retention is substantial, but I don’t have a citation for that.

Part of me wonders about pacing like this. OpenSciEd leads to deeper understanding, but the pacing of any HQIM aligned to NGSS seems hard. Even thought the NGSS are already a subset of NSES, I wonder if they are still too large? Hmmm.
