Windows is an absolute shitfire for developing on. Linux is easier than making toast but I got sick of crap hardware, crap hardware support, and majority of vendors ignoring Linux (I contributed for 6 years). Now I’m on MacOS and doing signed OS apps, containerised, and terminal is easy as.
Can’t see any reason for sw engineers to choose Windows with this weird direction they are doubling down on

Yeah seriously. Back when I was 30 years younger I often preferred to watch my friends play games instead of playing them myself. Same thing as watching a YouTube play through really.
No one has dominion over what games/franchises you choose to be a fan of.
- Plays a game for thousands of hours for years.
- Watches a Let's Play video of the same game.
Both of these can be fans of the same game for their own reasons.
HOW they found appreciation in it is personal—and valid.
