Dr Patricia S Paton raises some really interesting points about X getting banned in Brazil. No matter what we think of Musk, the ban gives us an insight into how the judiciary system is ‘working’ in Brazil ~ so was this a democratic act or a political one?

We have a lot of new folks that may not know anything about this, but we were created with this goal: to make sure that nobody ever monopolizes social media, including us.

"The Atmosphere" is what we call the tech, which (if you're REALLY technical) you can read about here atproto.com

We talk about Bluesky getting users, but Bluesky is part of an open social internet called "The Atmosphere" where other people can make their own apps, including their own versions of Bluesky.

Bluesky isn't growing; the Atmosphere is! You're not "our" users; you're a part of a shared place.

I recently started a podcast to help support my healthcare colleagues (and myself) working through these very difficult times

After six episodes, I was in two minds whether to continue it.

Today, a nurse told me how much it has helped her. She cried. We hugged.

Not in two minds anymore.

The Rwanda policy no longer has any connection with legal and policy reality.

Even if implemented it will make no difference.

It cannot be made lawful in a rush, let alone in an emergency.

The money being thrown at it, better spent on UK asylum system.

It is now a totem.
