Today, surprised to still find a few who believe neurodivergent people should hide at work, to stop prejudiced clients from withdrawing their custom.
I wonder which other minorities they ask to hide?
It's 1 in every 7 employees and managers. How do they hide them all, eh? 😂👀

➡️ Are these outcomes truly a reflection of outstanding student performance, or do they indicate a lack of sufficient academic challenge for a Master's degree?

FOI data raises concerns about assessment rigour:

- High pass rates and distinctions across modules, with minimal failures.

- "Module K," introduced in 2022/23, saw a 100% distinction rate among all 60 students.

The course team is considering reducing contact time to 4 days per week, citing student fatigue (Revalidation Report, p3).

❗️While student wellbeing is important, the PA curriculum is already dangerously short for generalist diagnostic roles.

City, St George's University of London was an early supporter of the PA project, launching the UK's first PA programme in 2008.

It now faces scrutiny following revelations from a 2023 revalidation report and FOI data by @idrsunny.bsky.social 🧵

Community Neighbourhood Centres over 6000 of them
GP practices underfunded (20% cut since 2016), overlooked & still there providing 30million appointments a month (5m more than 2019)
Wes Streeting wants to reform them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fund them and they will do the rest @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

This is, of course, really a debate about trans rights — an issue the majority of the population supports and whose unreasonable ask is basic civil rights. Throwing them to the wolves would achieve no electoral benefit and would only embolden the right to push for more.

But the cause is good

I have been thinking about how a small group of people can influence change in a nation, whilst winning hearts and minds in the process
The mass trespass of 1932 by a group of people arguably lead to the freeing up of the countryside and the right to roam🧵

It's a joy to be studying on an MSc where both lived & learnt experience is valued.

On my autism module's online forum, I can respond to a post by sharing my experiences as an autistic person & no one bats an eyelid.

This is how academia should be.

There is overwhelming evidence that the policies & funding of NHS England & GMC are set on replacing Doctors with PAs

When stating PAs have been integral to the NHS for 20years they are lying

2015 there were just 15 PAs in General Practice only 109 in hospitals

I don’t understand the reasons

This gave me goosebumps.

“My 18-year-old daughter was at Starbucks, alone, the other night.

A man came up to her and started talking to her.

A barista handed her “an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up.”

How grateful I am for people who look out for other people!”

We need each other.

I once 'defied' a teacher.
I was in so much pain that day that I couldn't do the sports activity she wanted me to do, and I couldn't explain properly.
I got shouted at and punished severely for my 'misbehaviour'.

What would have helped, instead?

*adding, distress can also be caused by e.g. lack of enabled communication, or exhaustion, or by pain conditions/illness (often undiagnosed in autistic people of any age, because of the misinformation that autism = 'bad behaviour'. A disastrous misunderstanding that often leads to very short lives)

Other possibilities exist, e.g. PDA, or response to trauma, or underlying anxiety/depression etc.
Never assume that distress behaviour = autism/bad parents.
