Another reminder that “15-Minute Cities” isn’t a new idea. It’s skilled packaging of an idea that’s been around for a LONG time.

It’s been called “city of short distances.” I used to call it “The Power of Nearness.” MANY names.

More things close by. Less car dependency. More CHOICE.

Common sense.

Yes, we warned about all of it last year. Every last detail, every policy. Watched every rally speech, every interview, every campaign video. Posted thousands of clips about it all. Most completely or largely ignored by legacy media.

And yes, it is going to get much worse.

I grew up near Alton. So glad to see an effort to revitalize this downtown that has needed it for years and has so much potential.

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.

Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.

Do not.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

If you're 45, that number is 74.7%.

If you're under 30, the number is 100%.
