Thrilled to be a member at a community studio and glazing and firing pieces again. While I'm still setting up my own full home studio and itching to get to do my own glaze chemistry, it feels amazing to get to see pieces all the way through again in the meantime - and be around other ceramists!

Since Council gutted outdoor dining and many places don't have parks or even benches, I've found myself eating at what is often the best option: a docked Citibike (I usually ride it right after and am mindful not to block anyone wanting a bike):

✅ outdoors
✅ table
✅ seat

Every doctors office I go to says if you're sick, you're required to wear a mask, but also there's always someone (an adult) with very visible cold/flu/rsv/covid symptoms and no one even offers those folks a mask. Meanwhile, I get weird looks from people in most waiting rooms?

Bad news for me, a public clock enjoyer, that the south-facing clock on the old Williamsburg Savings Bank is broken. Looking forward to freaking out that I'm late every time I bike up 4th Ave.

Since this City Council took office in 2022, 50 children have been killed in traffic in New York City. Today, we rallied at City Hall, placing 50 pairs of white shoes on the steps to represent each child lost during this Council's tenure.

Universal daylighting will save lives.

Eric Adams keeps on screwing over the city in his last-few months in office. Haven Green would provide deeply-needed affordable housing for seniors -- the Mamdani Administration should pursue state legislation to undo this decision.

Incredible news for me: the latest @ranchogordo.bsky.social Bean Club box is the perfect size to fit easily on the front of a @citibikenyc.bsky.social. Going to use this a lot for ferrying ceramic objects home from the studio!

For those of us who live on or near Court Street, this all is going to be a game changer. Thanks to @cmshahanahanif.bsky.social and everyone who has fought for better bike infrastructure in this neighborhood. Especially as school is back with zillions of parents and kids biking! Love to see it!
The Court Street bike lane (being implemented now) plus the greenway over the Gowanus Canal/under the expressway adds a nice protected corridor to Brooklyn's #bikenyc network

We're really disappointed to hear that the bike lane network in Community District 14, including protected bike lanes on Cortelyou and Dorchester Roads, will not be installed this year as DOT originally presented. We're hearing they're targeting installation for next year.

Protected bike lanes are proven solutions that make streets safer for everyone: pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers.

New Yorkers are sick and tired of the housing crisis. Thanks to our new mayor and big wins to expand affordable housing across New York City, we finally have the chance to start building homes for every New Yorker.

At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

It’s delicious.
It looks like New Yorkers just passed all three pro-housing charter amendments on the ballot. The mandate is clear: it's time to build more housing.
