Both the dramatic u-turn on the two child benefit cap and the introduction of the "mansion tax" on properties valued over £2 million clearly show that the best way to "push Labour left" is by working *outside* the party - in the Greens - rather than within it.

Ed isn't necessarily wrong here, but it's notable that Baron George Osborne of Gatley is missing from this circle.
That'll be because Ed served with him in the same government, and consistently toed the Tory line on austerity measures.

The two child benefit cap is the biggest single driver of child poverty.
It imposes hardship on kids, ignores changing family circumstances - and as the research shows, has no impact on family size.
Labour were forced to drop it - because people fought for it.
