There are so many lessons current day LGBTQ+ activists and advocates can learn from what ACT UP did in the 80s and 90s. Really great piece by Anna Wenner. newsisout.com/2024/11/how-...

100% this. I hated having my cancer crap cast as this heroic struggle. I out one foot in front of the other until treatment was complete. I was lucky enough to have tumors that responded well to treatment before the treatment killed me. There is no glory in not dying of disease.

First linocut in 20+ years, and I went with mushrooms, bc why not. They’re neat lil guys and offer so much opportunity for experimenting with texture and line weight. First few look good, but I need to clean up the block a bit before trying to pull enough for a decent edition.

Apologies for the crappy photo. Has anyone seen a white tympanum on a green frog before? Pic was taken at one of my ponds. I’ve never seen this on any of the local green frogs (I’m in Raleigh, NC) and trying to find an answer on Google was useless. #frogsky #herpsky #frogs

Lots of shrooms! I’m taking a printmaking class and a one color linocut is our first assignment. I’m looking forward to figuring out all the different textures. And to not cutting my fingers…

Two new pots getting ready for glaze and second firing. I can’t get over how talented my wife is, and I’m always happy to do my scratchings on the pots she makes. I’m in love with the naughty cats scoping out forbidden objects.

This gorgeous orbweaver set up shop in our front pollinator bed. The pics don’t do her justice. Her underside is a beautiful metallic gold that doesn’t come through at all. She’s about the size of the first joint of my thumb. I hope she sticks around for a while.
