🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

Teaching my kids reminds me how incredible teachers are.
We’ve dropped the provincially released strike curriculum and are learning to sew instead—so fair warning: handmade gifts for everyone this Christmas! #yyc

Google Maps needs a “least aggressive” route option. I’m not afraid of driving or speed, but there are certain intersections I avoid because people aggressive assholes.

“I always got the flu vaccine, for like years and years I got poked and never once got the flu so why would I continue to get the flu vaccine? I don’t think I’m at risk”

An actual conversation i overheard today.

We made it out for one last 2025 BVP ride. The 7s (they are 7 now!!) did spectacular as always and used their birthday money to purchase Johnston Canyon goats. 6 hours, 50 km, a few tears, lots of smiles, and now an exhausted family.

If you need a ladder to get in, maybe it’s too tall to be sharing the road with kids

Somehow we have gone from toddlers riding in the urban arrow to independent riders and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I am so proud of how independent these two are and I love all that them riding brings but I am still struggling with the fact that they don’t want to ride in the UA anymore.

It’s ok to kill people with your car as long as you stick around and let the police know you are the one who did it. You won’t be in trouble or anything, the police just need a name to attach to the report.

Calgary also.
Still seems to be some serious confusion in Toronto.

“Announcing a strike commencing October 6 before the parties have resumed negotiations only serves to increase stress among Alberta's students and families,"

Possibly the odd one out here but giving me a months notice is easing my stress, not increasing it.

Smoke season: when it’s too hot to keep the windows closed, too smoky to open them, and you feel guilty running the AC because the planet’s already on fire—yet it’s still too warm inside to sleep. #yyc

My 6 yr olds have endured more smoke hours in their lifetime than I did over the course of decades.
Even with consciously trying to minimize exposure, I have to wonder what the health effects will be.
Today Calgarians will again breathe the most toxic level of air quality the #AQHI provides for, "10+". Historically it only went to 10 but in the last few years a new level was needed for when we go LITERALLY OFF THE CHARTS which we now do pretty much every year #SueBigOil

First day of grade 2 was a smokey one but we still got out there on our bikes.
Happy to see full bike racks and lots of parents arriving with kids on bikes this morning!

In Alberta, for the 2025-26 school year, all girls should try out for the boys teams, and the boys in solidarity should not try out for any teams sports this year.

The girls teams have been affected by this UCP BS, not the boys teams. #AbLeg #abed

When two sets of twins plan a play date where they bike to Johnston’s Canyon for ice cream the parents make it happen.
I will say the 45 km return trip was much easier emotionally with 2 more parents and friends but it took at an additional 90 minutes compared to the spring.
