Authors receive a payment every time you borrow a book, audiobook or ebook from libraries in 35 countries. Those countries include the UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany to name but a few. Borrowing a book helps the author’s pocket as well as yours.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Makes me sad re-reading this amazing letter from ex-Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox sent to high school seniors in 1994 after they asked him “What should Americans learn from Watergate?” 20 years later in ‘94.

Teachers should absolutely be paid better and given the utmost respect.
Teachers should make so much more money.
👀 68 percent decline in new teaching licenses in PA in less than 10 years.
"Fewer students are majoring in education; in 2021-22, Pennsylvania issued its lowest-ever number of new teaching licenses, 5,101, down from about 16,000 in 2012-13."
