All the children hone today for a belated birthday and early graduation celebration. Had to ditch the barbecue due to the rain, so homemade bagels instead 🥯

Visited the Yorkshire Museum yesterday to see some of the items from the Melsonby hoard. It’s a great museum, where this hoard would be a perfect addition to their wonderful collection.

There's not much space, out in space.
A map of the current individual pieces of space junk being tracked by the ESA & USAF. With every launch that reaches orbit, the chances of a Kessler cascade happening rise.

We expect that some 50 Auschwitz Survivors will come to the Memorial for the 80th anniversary of the liberation.

The eyes and ears of the world should rest upon them.

We must safeguard their voices from silence, distortion, or being overshadowed.

Fabulous production at Hull Truck theatre. Thought provoking political allegory, and still relevant today.
I had no idea The Borrowers was written with an allegory of life under communism in mind. Or, as the author Mary Norton put it: “It’s not about little people who live under the floorboards, it’s about Czechoslovakia.”

Interesting Northern Soul piece:
