In their willingness to roll up their sleeves-sometimes literally between scenes-I saw a truth we often forget: we are strongest when we take care of one another. And in a year when so much feels uncertain, that simple lesson is worth holding on to. www.statnews.com/2025/12/24/f... via @statnews.com
What giving flu shots backstage taught me about public health
On or off Broadway, public health lives or dies at the level of ordinary, everyday interactions.

Actually we have a tool for that already! It's called thinking. We use our brain. It's called brainstorming! Clue is in the name.

In 1722, Reverend Edmund Massey preached against vaccination, saying "Life itself may not always be a blessing".

In 2025, Senator Joni Ernst justified cuts to Medicaid, saying "We all are going to die".

The opposite of public health has always been public death.

It’s past midnight and House Republicans are *still* fighting to give more money to the richest 10% and take money away from the poorest 10%. They can try to spin this all they want, but this would worsen inequality, economic growth, and our deficit.

The Trump-Supreme Court battle is not really the crisis.

The crisis is here now. Trump is enacting an insidious coordinated attack on our institutions of democratic accountability, designed to crater democracy before next fall.

Repost yourself. Interact with others. Use tags. Use feeds. Be kind and find kindness. Comment away. It's really really freeing.

Indie authors are largely poor and struggling and we rely on the income we get from our books. Don’t include indie books in your boycott, please. It directly hurts struggling creatives who are faced with corporations, an impossible industry and rising living costs alongside falling royalty returns.
Hey, how about we not boycott Kindle Unlimited authors?!!!. You know the authors that are mostly BIPOC and LGBTQ+ authors?

Now I'd like to do something about how it has influenced how i see the people who enable Trump.
