The Rev W Awdry's Railway Series Weekend is well underway & Sir Handel looks VERY pleased with himself, having reached Nant Gwernol on time!
The free exhibition is open 10am - 5:30pm in the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum & Rusty the little diesel is shunting the yard at Wharf.

80 years ago today, the Rev. Awdry published his first story, The Three Railway Engines.
This was the beginning of a wonderful series of books set on the fictional Island of Sodor.

HERE NOW. I've watched the first two episodes of this and it is PROPERLY terrific. Brings all the energy of the original comics to the screen perfectly, loads of great laughs. Gonna get fired into more of it this evening, best adaptation of Asterix I've ever seen.

DCRC Lore: Sometime during the mid 1930s, the Fellwood & Atlantic Railroad hosted the LMS 6100 “Royal Scott” during its US tour. It had a publicity photo taken of it next to the F&A No. 21 “Red River”, a 4-8-2, but said picture has yet to surface and is presumed lost.

Found this Henchel Brother 1925 locomotive outside of Chaves. The gentleman who now owns it used to ride on it to school. When the line was abandoned he purchased it and the station to preserve the pieces he has and the memories. A private museum #photography 📷 🌕 #infrared
