MEDIUM NEWS EVERYONE!
After extensive testing of our S160 prototypes, we have taken the decision to change the material of the running boards from plastic to metal.
Pro:
Reduced chance of bending during installation
Con:
Slightly reduced fidelity in the detail
Expected delivery will now be in Q2.

Our Great Northern Railway teak 'Evolution' coaches are currently aboard a ship en route to the UK.
We really hope you like the teak finish, as it took a lot of design work and several iterations of the printing process to try and align all the panels.

We can confirm that the Evolution coaches from Group B of Batch 1 are currently heading to the UK from our factory.

There are some truly eye-catching liveries in this second stage, as it contains those of the Midland Railway, Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, and Great Northern Railway.

Happy Burns Night!

Here are a few close-ups of some of the finer details for Caley No.123. Not only do these models look astounding, but in the true spirit of Rabbie Burns, they are poetry in motion.

Earlier in the week, we showed you some renders of the Met and LT liveried Evolution Coaches, with the modified tooling featuring round-topped doors and no duckets. Look at what just arrived!

Earlier this week, we had Dan from Tunnel Lane Model Railways and Jonathan from JS Models visit the Rapido HQ.

They have been instrumental in developing the Rapido layout from a base board into a fully-fledged model railway.

We think you’ll like the recent additions to our ever-evolving layout.

Less than 2 weeks to go until we close the order books on our 'Batch 2.5' Evolution coaches, which feature round-topped doors.

Just like trying to get a photo of a Womble, you need to pre-orders the Metropolitan and LT-liveried Evolution stock before they go underground!

Did you know that the LMS used Caledonian No. 123 for Inspectors and Directors’ trains? She even hauled services on the Dundee to Perth mainline during the 1930s.

Later this week, we will be sharing a 'How does it sound' video for this glorious loco, so keep an eye on our channels!

Work is ongoing behind the scenes on the next GWR tank locomotive project, but in the meantime here are some nice photos of 44xx No. 4404 at rest between duties.
The model has been fitted with the optional etched plates on the cabside.
January 12, 2026 at 7:45 AM
Some of the ex-GNR C12 tank locomotives were allocated to the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway at some point in their life, so one of our graphic artists wondered what one would look like in the distinctive colours of the M&GN....
It's this month's Rejected Livery!

Thanks to David for sharing photos of 'Judy' (before she acquired her name) at work and rest on his china clay layout.
It very much looks the part!
