This somewhat ironic pedestrianization of Princes Street is somewhat glorious.

Shows you how good it could be with that much more space.

“As dozens of frog species have declined across Central America, scientists have witnessed a remarkable chain of events: With fewer tadpoles to eat mosquito larvae, rates of mosquito-borne malaria in the region have climbed, resulting in a fivefold increase in cases.”
First, the frogs died. Then people got sick.
An emerging area of research is uncovering hidden links between nature and human health.

Some of the most heartbreaking calls I took at the COVID info hotline were from meatpacking workers who wanted to know how to protect themselves at work from getting sick.
During the height of the pandemic, Tyson used Palantir to predict Covid-19 infections among meatpacking workers down to a nearly exactly figure. But rather than using this data to increase worker protections, Tyson used it plan for labor shortages + plant closures

We're so excited to share pictures of the restoration we completed on The Carolina Theatre's 32 year old neon sign for their cinemas wing. In preparation for the theatre's 100th anniversary in 2026, they hired us to do a full overhaul and restore the sign to its 1994 glory.

A massive corruption scandal is brewing in Nevada: it appears the Republican Governor's office stepped in to cover for Elon Musk's Boring Company after safety violations caused two firefighters to suffer chemical burns. Even worse? It looks like they deleted evidence of their meetings!

I noticed Epstein’s email address hadn’t been removed from the new releases and so, in one of my more tasteless and ill-advised moves, I tried sending an email for a laugh and was surprised it didn’t bounce.
Sixteen hours later I got this reply and now I’m a bit creeped out.

So apparently, my fellow men are suing Uber and Lyft over their “women only” feature, which matches women riders with women drivers, for everyone’s safety. Smh.

Sexism against men is like racism against white people—not a thing.

It’s up to me and my fellow men to defeat the patriarchy.

Richard E Grant: ‘My philosophy is, go for it! Squeeze the pips until they squeak’

The actor has found a vocation playing punctilious eccentrics. Now he is in exalted company for a sobering role in a film about the Nuremberg trials.

Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.
