I am just looking around today, feeling overwhelmed by the number of extraordinary people I know who have been working very hard for a very long time towards making this flying rock safer and more free for more people.
I know these times are scary. They are.

Half my family immigrated legally from Germany in the 20s after the Beer Hall Pautsch where Hitler tried to overthrow the generals. They are rolling over in their graves now.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.
Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions

When you are in a church, and become offended by a sermon about mercy, compassion, welcoming the stranger, and love - then perhaps you meant to be in a coffee shop, because you clearly do not understand the words of Jesus and the meaning of our faith.

The New Testament literally gives you examples and tells you to wake up numerous times throughout. Even the resurrection is about waking up. Yes Jesus was indeed woke. Thank you God!! #woke
