I remember where I was the day JFK was shot. 7th grade. Shared feeling of shock throughout the school, staff and students. A feeling of national emergency. They sent us home a little early that day. Remember being dazed, looking for the right bus.

This is a graph of the futures trading in the S&P500 over the last two days. It is bonkers to see price girations over 250 points in that time frame. This kind of volatility is rarely good news.

I don't understand how OAN Plus operates as a broadcast channel (10.4 in NYC). Right now they've got some mook on spreading Islamaphobic paranoia. The chiron reads "Londonistan in Texas." How does this meet community standards or FCC guidelines?

Early days yet, but we may be in for a hellacious flu season. Lack of vaccination gives viruses an advantage for mutation. The more people get sick, the more chances the virus has. It can't evolve without hosts. Our Asian neighbors are masking already for flu season. I'm vaxxed but may join them.

Single-family homes were intended to be owned and occupied by single families. Somewhere along the line (1980s?) they became investment vehicles, driving up prices, pricing out homeowners. Localities could fix this with property tax policies, but they won't because they now depend on high values.

I hope SCOTUS kills Trump's tariffs soon. I just finished a bottle of sweet vermouth making this Manhattan (swirls drink for emphasis), and I've only got one bottle left.
I stocked up on a number of essentials before Trump's tariffs (which I'm boycotting), but they won't last forever.

I was never any good at calculus. I suspect whatever calculus led Democratic Senators to fold, it was a miscalculation.
