I believe this year is our last chance to stop a U.S. dictatorship. We don’t have until 2028. By that time, the U.S. may resemble Putin’s Russia. And don't call Trump a “lame duck.” He ignores the Constitution.
Trump aims to rig this year's midterms, but it's our best chance. Let’s fight like hell.

CNN is consciously helping Stephen Miller lie to its audience. This is a fundamental betrayal of the primary duty of a news outlet: to provide verified information to the public about matters vital to their well-being. The media's duty is not to give liars a bigger megaphone.
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?

Excellent reminder
The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

Do you think Lindsey Graham or any other Republican can take their tongues out of Trump's ass long enough to defend NATO. Republicans won't defend Veterans or the VA. So, don't expect them to defend NATO!

Giddy Lindsey Graham: “You just wait for Cuba. Their days are numbered!”

Warmonger neo-con Lindsey is like a kid in candy store right now. Trump even signed a ‘Make Iran Great Again’ hat for him.

20 years ago, we had this battle with Graham, who was the world's biggest cheerleader for the neocon war in Iraq. Back then, he was licking his chops at the idea of one day doing it in Iran and everywhere else in the Middle East. He now has Trump on his side. #NoForeverWars

I don't know how else to say this: every biographer of Donald Trump understands that he doesn't care about human suffering.

Not one iota.

Not in the United States, not anywhere else.

Not among children, not among animals.

He is, *journalistically speaking*, an actual monster.

When I wrote, as a Trump biographer, that the Nobel Peace Prize was likely a factor in Trump deciding to back a repressive regime in Venezuela rather than its democratically elected government, some assumed I was being hyperbolic.

No—he's that evil. When I call him a monster, it's as a journalist.

IMO the argument is that you can make things into big enough deals that it matters. Khanna found Massey and found survivors and made the Epstein Files the gigantic story it should be. Only then did establishment Dems come along. You can, in fact, make things into big hairy deals if you do it right.
if you want the Senate to do something, Senate Republicans must do something.

People are dunking on this but I'm not really sure what plays Schumer has other than to try to peel off Rs.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

Lot of people yelling recently "but we don't have the votes!" True! That doesn't mean "immediately quit." (Also not what propter is saying here, to be clear.) It means create a spectacle, make things cause celebres, make the Republican position untenable.

Create bargaining position and force votes.
